A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STAFF TO
APPLY TO THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION CEC)
FOR NEW INSTALLATIONS FOR BATTERY BACKUP
SYSTEM BBS) GRANT
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission CEC) has $1 million of partial funding
available for agencies to purchase battery backup units and install new BBS installation;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park wishes to apply for this grant which will pay
approximately 65 percent of each Battery Backup System, which costs $2.900; and
WHEREAS, the City will have to pay the difference and $700 for the cost of
installation for each approved BBS intersection, totaling $1.715 local match; and
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park, hereby authorizes the Director of Public Works to apply for California Energy
Commission Battery Backup Systems backup funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized
and directed, on behalf of the City of Baldwin Park and in its name, to execute and deliver
such documents and to do such acts as may be deemed necessary or appropriate to
accomplish the intentions of this resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED on 4th day of September 2002.
