A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK IMPOSING A CENSURE UPON
COUNCILMEMBER RICARDO PACHECO FOR
ENGAGING IN CONDUCT WHICH COULD HAVE
POTENTIALLY THREATENED THE SAFETY OF HIS
FELLOW COUNCILMEMBERS
WHEREAS, the safety and security of City Officials and City employees is of
paramount concern to the City Council of City of Baldwin Park, and
WHEREAS, at a recent City Council meeting, a member of the audience was
able to invade the dty council platform area. and
WHEREAS, upon being interviewed, this individual stated that CouncHmember
Ricardo Pacheco authorized her presence into an area generally off-limits during city
council meetings, and
WHEREAS, the conduct of CouncHmember Pacheco placed members of the City
Council and city staff potentially at risk for their safety from members of the public
without informing the other members of the City Council.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park. as follows:
SECTION 1. The Members of the Baldwin Park City Council are displeased with
the conduct of their colleague. Ricardo Pacheco, for engaging in conduct which could
have potentially threatened the safety of his fellow Councilmembers.
SECTION 2. The Baldwin Park City Councilmembers wish to remind their
colleagues that the safety of its members is important to ensure the security of its public
facilities, public officials and employees.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park hereby admonish and
censure its colleague, Councilmember Ricardo Pacheco, for engaging in conduct which
had the potential of threatening the safety of his fellow Councilmembers.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 18th day of December. 2002.
