A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE
NEGATIVE DECLARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
FOR THE PROPOSED 11,000 GYMANSIUM APPLICANT:
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK; LOCATION: BARNES PARK,
3521 PATRITTI STREET).
WHEREAS, the City's parkland to people ratio is extremely low 395
acres of parkland per resident); and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park desires to provide additional
recreational amenities for the residents of the City and
WHEREAS, Barnes Park is an under utilized park within the City located
along the southwestern boundary of the City; and
WHEREAS, Barnes Park has under developed land available which could
accommodate an 11.000 square foot gymnasium, the accessory improvements and still
have ample, open green space; and
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
a) That the request for approval of the Negative Declaration of
Environmental Impact to facilitate the construction of an 11,000 square foot
gymnasium was made by the City of Baldwin Park Staff in accordance with
the California Environmental Quality Act; and
b) That the proposed gymnasium to be constructed on certain
real property located at 3251 Patritti Street in the City of Baldwin Park.
described more particularly in the information on file with the Planning
Division; and
SECTION 2. That the City Council reviewed and considered the Negative
Declaration of Environmental Impact and determined that the proposed project will not
have a significant impact on the environment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution
and forward a copy hereof to the Secretary of the Planning Commission.
