A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA DECLARING ITS SUPPORT
FOR THE RE-INTRODUCTION OF THE DREAM ACT
LEGISLATION AT THE NEXT LEGISLATIVE SESSION
WHEREAS, on Saturday, October 13, 2007, Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed
Senator Gilbert Cedillo's California Dream Act SB 1); and
WHEREAS, the proposed legislation would have enabled qualifying
undocumented students to apply for two types of non- competitive state financial aid,
the Cal Grant High School Entitlement Grant and community college fee waivers; and
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park supports the re-
introduction of the Dream Act Legislation during the next legislative session.
Section 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and
forward a copy of said resolution to the Honorable Gilbert Cedillo, Senator of District 22.
