A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING
THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR
FUNDING FOR THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY
AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT
EECBG)
WHEREAS, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant EECBG) funds, as
part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, are available through the
Department of Energy DOE) for energy efficiency, reduction in energy consumption
and/or fossil fuel emissions.
WHEREAS, The City is eligible to receive $705,500 on a formula basis, in Energy
Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant EECBG) funds in accordance with the DOE's
Funding Opportunity Announcement;
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed an application for that funding with an initial
application deadline of June 25, 2009;
WHEREAS, This funding opportunity will assist the City of Baldwin Park in meeting
its long term vision to create a sustainable community, while responding to global impacts
of climate change.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, as follows:
SECTION 1. It possesses the legal authority to apply for the grant in
accordance with all applicable regulations, including all understandings and assurances
contained therein.
SECTION 2. Based upon all the foregoing recitations and determinations,
the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the submittal of the application for the
Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant EECBG) funds in accordance with DOE
requirements and guidelines.
SECTION 3. The Chief Executive Officer CEO) of the City of Baldwin Park
is hereby authorized and directed to act on the City's behalf in all matters pertaining to
this application, and to provide such additional information as may be required.
