COUNCIL CHAMBERS)
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in
special session at the above place at 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Bloxham led the salute to the Flag. Flag Salute
ROIL CALL: Present: Councilmen Cole, Duskin, Littlejohn, Roll Call
Scovotti, Bloxham; City Clerk, City Attorney.
Absent: City Treasurer.
Request of the Baldwin Park Optimist Club for Charity
Solicitation License to raise funds for the Youth Welfare
Program was submitted.
Moved by Councilman Littlejohn, seconded by Counci.lman
Scovotti, and unanimously carried, that the Charn.ty
Solicitation License for the Optimist Club he granted
with waiver of fee.

The Council then proceeded with a discussion of the budget
arriving at a total figure of $1499,296.70, distributing as

To provide time for the City Administrator to make the
necessary mathematical computations, the Council proceeded
with the discussion of the interim Zoning Map.
Moved by Councilman Scovotti, and seconded by Councilman
Cole, that the City attorney explain to the Council the
need for immediate action on the ordinance and the map.
This motion was adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Cole, Littlejohn, Scovotti and
Bloxham.
NOES: Councilman Duskin.
ABSENT: None
The City Attorney explained the reason for haste in
adopting an interim Ordinance and Zoning Map was due to
the question of legality of the existing Zoning
Ordinance.
Moved by Councilman Duskin, seconded by Councilman
Scovotti, that the City Engineer be directed to proceed
with preparation of the interim Zoning I•1p as per sch-
edule and any necessary changes be made by the Council at
the next regular meeting. This motion adopted b:* the
following vote
AYES: Council-m-art Cole, Littlejohn, Scovotti, Bloxham
and i ia3 kill.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The City Administrator presented an ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PPR C ESTABLISHING THE TAX RATE FOR I1UNICI PAL
PURPOSES F( THE TAX YEAR 1956-1957
Moved by Councilman Durkin, seconded by Councilman Cole,
that the ordinance be passed and adopted.
Ordinance passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Cole, Duskin, Littlejohn, Scovotti
and Bloxham.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
Moved by Councilman Cole, seconded by Councilman
Scovotti; and unanimously carried the meeting be ad-
journeu..
