A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2013-030
APPOINTING INDIVIDUALS TO THE RECREATION &
COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, SPECIFICALLY TO OFFICE NOS. 1, 2, 3, 4
AND 5
WHEREAS, the Recreation & Community Services Commission consists of eight
members and members of Office Nos. 1 through 5 are appointed to a two-year term and
members of Office Nos. 6 through 8 (Student Commissioners) are appointed to a one-
year term; and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2014 the City Council opened the application
process for all City Commissions; and
WHEREAS, a public Notice of Vacancies was posted at three locations within the
city, was posted on the city's website and marquee. The deadline for submission was
May 1, 2014.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to fill the vacancies of Office Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4
& 5; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Baldwin Park Municipal Code Section 32.52,
appointments to Office Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 are made and entered onto this resolution for
a term expiring June 30, 2016 and Office Nos. 6, 7 & 8 are entered onto this resolution
for a term expiring in accordance to the respective term for each office.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following are appointed as members of the Recreation &
Community Services Commission and shall hold office at the pleasure of the City
Council and serve for the term as follows:
Office 1 — Jo Ann Watkins for the term expiring June 30, 2016
Office 2 — Juan Rios for the term expiring June 30, 2016
Office 3 — Arcelia Avila for the term expiring June 30, 2016
Office 4 — Ana Lujan for the term expiring June 30, 2016
Office 5 — Leslie Brito for the term expiring June 30, 2016
Office 6 — Ruth Viveros for the term expiring June 30, 2014
Sierra Vista High School Student
Office 7 — Kimberly Lau for the term expiring June 30, 2014
Baldwin Park High School Student
Office 8 — VACANT for the term expiring June 30, 2014
North Park High School Student
Section 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and
forward a copy of this Resolution to Commission appointees and a copy to the
Commission secretary.
