Council Chambers) Adjourned Regular Meeting The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park rat in adjourned regular session at the above place at 6:10 F)i. Mayor Bloxham led the salute to the Flag. Flag Salute ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Cole,Duskin, Scovotti, Roll Call Mayor Bloxham, City Clerk, Clerk Attorney. Absent: Councilman Littlejohn, City Treasurer. I I Councilman Littlejohn joined the meeting at 6:15 P.M. City Attorney and City Administrative Officer explained proposed change in Business License Ordinance. moved by Councilman Duskin, seconded by Councilman Cole, and. unanimously carried that the fee for game machines be fixed at 548,00 per annum. City Attorney introduced an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE CF THE Cr]Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALD 1IN PARK AME71DING THE BALDWJIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 6107 f), 6112 b) 6128.11 6128.18, 6128.19, 6128.21, 6128.22 6128.29, 6128.31, 6128.32, 6128.35, 6128.x.8, 6128.53, 6128.56, 6128.59, 6128.60; 6128,6:1, 6128.62, and 6128.63, AND ADDING SECTION 6107 h), AND REPEALING SECTIONS 6128.12, 6128.43, 6128455.° Moved by Councilman Scovotti, and seconded by Councilman Duskinn, that further reading of the ordinance be waived and the ordinance introduced, This motion adopted by the following vote AYES: Councilmen Cole, Duskin, 14ttlejohn, Scovotti and B1ox;lam NOES None ABSi FT None I City Administrative Officer presented a letter from H.F. Skouland, consultant to the Police Defartment, dated November 20;1956, rebomrmnding the dismissal from the Police Department of officers L, J). Eushey, T. Arnold, and H. McNama, stating his reasons in each case for such recommendations. Moved by Councilman Littlejohn, seconded by Councilman Duskin, that we dismiss the three officers, to wit: L.D. Bushey, T. Arnold., and H. McNama as recommr;nded by the Police Consultant H.F. Skouland; that they be suspend- ed immediately with pay until midnight of November 30, 1956, at which time their services will be terminated. This motion adopted by the following vote AYES: Councilmen Cole, Duskin, Littlejohn, Scovotti and Bloxham. NOES: None ABSENT None Councilman Littlejohn joined meeting at 6:15 P.M. Davis, 19352 E. Grove Center, Covina Keith Bassett, 1136 Serenade Avenue, W, Covina E.J. McLoughlin, 26928 Lakewood Way, Hayward, Calif. Moved by Councilman Scovotti, seconded by Councilman Littlejohn, that the employment of the following named seven men as Provisional officers of the Police Depart- ment of the City of Baldwin Park be approved and authoriz- ing the employment of six of these men from said approved list as police officers of the City of Baldwin Park upon a temporary provisional basis subject-'to the police ex- amination to be given by the" City of Baldwin Park, said police officers to start at the starting wage set pursuant to the resolution setting Police Department salaries of the City of Baldwin Park,said employment may start at once. This motion adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Cole, Duskin, Littlejohn, Scovotti and Bloxham NOES: None ABSENT: None City Administrator reported that he had granted to the Request of Post- Postmaster of the City of Baldwin Park, subject to Council office for use approval, the use of the steel building on the Old Central of garage Bldg. School grounds formerly used as a garage, for use by the Old Central Post Office Department in handling Christmas mails from School Grounds Dec. 114 to December 26, 1956, a total of thirteen days, for Christmas such use to be without charge, but that a charge of $25.00 mails. would be made to cover the cost of electricity, gas and water during that period. Approved. Moved by Councilman Littlejohn, seconded by Mayor Bloxham and unanimously carried, that the action of the City Administrative Officer in permitting the Postoffice Department to use the garage building for handling of Christmas mails for a period of thirteen days from Dec- ember 14 to December 26,1956, free of charge, but with a charge of 325.00 to cover cost of utilities, be approved. City Administrative Officer reported that Mr. Charles W. Re request Knight, 14833 N. Stancroft Street, Publicity Chairman of the Citizen's Group Citizen's Group for Anti-Recall had made application for use for Anti-Recall of the Auditorium for a public meeting to be held Thursday, to use auditorium November 29.
