Walter Schroeter had not with Mr. Longcor of the Local Allocation Division of Finance at his office in Los Angeles and every- thing pointed to early, satisfactory negotiations for the Old Central School and land. Mayor pro tam Littlejohn gave a report on the condition of the.Mlotorcycle Officer Harold D. Perry injured in line of duty 14-1-57 City Administrator to write a letter to be sent to the officer. Public hearing on amendment of Sec. 9100.259, Municipal Code Parking in C-2 zone. No one appearing to speak either for or against this amendment, the hearing was closed. Roved by Councilman Cole, seconded by Councilman Davis, that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance amending Sec. 9100.259 of the Municipal Code, incorporating therein the recommendations of the Planning Commission. The above motion was adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Cole, Davis and Littlejohn NCES: None ABSENT: None City administrator announced that he had received two bids for two Ford cars for the Police Department one from Ken Roggy Ford of $4,139.20 and one from Russ Davis Ford of 464,214.14; that he had also received a proposal from Vehicle Leasing Company giving a rate of 6.0475 per mile or 142.50 per month for 1957 4-door Plymouth Sedans; that a survey had been made covering operation of our present Fords, less cost of gasoline, up to Mar. 1, 1957, and the computed figure was $.038 per mile, as compared to lease price of $.0475; that he recommended purchase rather than leasing of police cars. Moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Cole, and unanimously carried, that the bid of Ken Roggy Ford, dated 3-13-57 in the sum of $4,139.20 for two Ford cars, with equipment specified in the bid,be accepted, and purchase authorized. Request from Civil Defense for purchase of radio, with necessary equipment, on a Federal matching funds basis. Moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Mayor pro tea Littlejohn that City Administrator be authorized to pur- chase Civil Defense radio and equipment for the sum of $3b2.65, for which City will receive matching funds in amount of 4'164.50.
