Bishop, and unanimously carried, that a five munute re-
cess be declared.

Moved by Councilman Bishop, seconded by Councilman
Stephens, and unanimously carried, that matter of resigna-
tion of officer George Cairns item 5 on the agenda) be
brought before the council at this time.
The City Attorney stated he had had an interview with
Mr. Angelo Baldwin, attorney for Officer George Cairns,
and it was suggested that a motion be made by the Council
authorizing the City Administrator to reinstate officer
Cairns and to accept the resignation of Officer Cairns;
provided that the form of reinstatement and form of
resignation be in form approved by the City Attorney, and
the effective date of reinstatement and effective date of
resignation to be up to the City Administrator in his order.
Mr. Baldwin stated to the Council that it would be satis-
factory for the resignation to be effective as of Megr 25,
1957 and that no further compensation would accrue to Mr.
Cairns.

and unanimously carried, that the City Administrator be
authorized to reinstate officer Cairns and also be authoriz-
ad to accept the resignation of Officer Cairns, effective the
25th day of May, 1957; provided, however, that the resigna-
tion state the fact that no further pay shall be due officer
Cairns after May 25, 1957 and that the form of the reinstate-
ment and the farm of the resignation be subject to the
approval of the City Attorney.
