Pacific Avenue, Baldwin Park, 91706 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m. by Mayor Lozano. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmember Ricardo Pacheco Councilmember Monica Garcia Councilmember Susan Rubio [arrived at 5:46 p.m.) Mayor Pro Tem Cruz Baca Mayor Manuel Lozano PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS Mayor Lozano opened Public Communications at 5:40 p.m. Seeing no one wishing to speak, Public Communications closed at 5:40 p.m. OPEN SESSION/STUDY SESSION 1. 2ND UNIT CODE AMENDMENT—Community Development City Planner, Amy Harbin, narrated a prepared Staff Report summarizing the current zoning and code requirements, and provided Council with a number of options to consider; responded to questions from Council to address various scenarios and affect to current programs that would be impacted by changes to the code. Following discussion, Council directed staff to summarize the issues discussed and bring this item back at on a future date for further consideration. Council recessed and went into Closed Session at 5:54 p.m. 2. CITY EVENTS WORKSHOP— Recreation and Community Services Recreation and Community Services Director, Manuel Carrillo, narrated a PowerPoint presentation which illustrated various community events that the City has historically held, the expenditures associated with each event, and a projected budget for such events should they be brought back. Council discussed the list of events presented for consideration and the associated costs, as well as discussing which events may be combined to effectively engage the community while still being cost conscious. Council expressed a desire to bring this item back at a future meeting, directing Staff to incorporate some events that Council wishes to see but were not included on the list. Tafoya, Craig Graves Negotiating parties: Wireless Capital Partners Under negotiation: Terms and price Council reconvened to Open Session at 6:45 p.m. to hear the Item No. 2 from Open Session. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, by motion of Mayor Lozano, seconded by Councilmember Rubio, the meeting adjourn at 7:07 p.m. REPORT ON CLOSED SESSION Mayor Lozano reported that Council took no reportable action on Closed Session Item Nos. 1, 2 and 4. The Mayor further stated that Council took no reportable action on Item No. 3, Case No. BC548620 Hadsell v. City of Baldwin Park, Case No. 85147794, Casas v City of Baldwin Park (BPCCC), and Case No. BS152919, City of Baldwin Park v. City of Irwindale. Page 2 of 3 Mayor Lozano reported that by a vote of 5—0, Council authorized the City Attorney to defend the in the case of Lindsay v.
