Council Chambers) The City Council of the City of Baldvin Park met in regular session at the above place at 7:30 P.M. Councilman Bishop led the salute to the flag. Flag Salute Invocation was given by Rev. Merrill H. Rodgers, First Assembly of God Church. Invocation Roll Call: Presents Councilman Bishop, Cale, Holmes, Stephens and Littlejohn; City Clerk. Mayor Littlejohn brought up the question of proper heating facilities for the Auditorius Building. Councilman Mewed by Caaoilman Holmes, seconded Coo, and 4- aauuly carried, that City ldninistrate taker immediate action to pat heating system in Auditorium Building in satisfactory condition by either repairing what is al- ready in the building or replaeament. Jones Faris, Manager of the Baldwin Park County mater District stated their Board of Directors had agreed to pro- vide the City with some of its property to widen this alley, providing the City iould remove the Eucalyptus trees and utility poles. Hoteling, 3138 Puente Avenue asked to be heard with reference to flood conditions on Puente Avenue and wanted to know the reasons for this, inasmuch as Puente Avenue had always been more or less free from flood has- Ards. Xr. Hoteling was advised that the City Engineer has been instructed to inspect the condition and make a report to the Council. M. NOES: None ABSENT: None Mayor Littlejohn presented a letter he had received from Mr. Ralph Hicks, operator of the Jvbi3m Ball Room in Baldwin Park, in=,protest of sections of the Proposed ordinance regulating public dances. Mr. Ralph Hicks also appeared in person pointing out his objections to certain sections of this proposed ordinance. Moved by Counoiman Bishop, seconded by Councilman Steppe ns, and unanimously carried, that a 5-minute recess be declared. Mr. James Faris, and Mr. Albert Gilmore appeared and explained in detail why the Polyview Corporation would like a franchise not necessarily an exclusive one) for the territory in and around Baldwin Park to televise over a closed circuit. Mr. Faris presented a supplemental application asking for &"franchise instead of an exclusive franchise, with the right to review after 3 years of operation.
