Councilman Bishop led the salute to the flag. Moved by Councilman Stephens,and seconded by Councilman Holmes, that the following be added to Section 13: In the event of such an injury then the employee shall rec- eive his salary from the date of injury for one calendar week without a deduction from his earned vacation time or his earned sick leave time." This motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Stephens, Holmes, Bishop, Littlejohn and Cole. NCES: None ABSENT: None Addition to Sec. 13. Moved by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Councilman Holmes Addition to Sec. 15 that the following be added to Section 15: re holidays falling In the event that any of these days fall on Saturday or Sun- day then the employee is entitled to the preceding; day or the day following. Should the holiday fall on a._Saturday then the preceding Friday shall be a holiday. In the event that the day falls on a Sunday then the following Monday shall be a holiday." The Councilmen concurred, with the exception of Councilman Bishop, that the matter of fixing salary schedule was a problem for the City Administrator and the City Clerk and that it was not fair to other city employees for one employee to make a personal salary request. Moved by Councilman Bishop, seconded by Councilman Holmes, that the request for Change Order No. 3 be approved. Recessed at 9:45 p.m. and reconvened at 9:50 p.m. Recess Mayor Cole announced that it was time for presentation and hearing on the 1958-59 tentative budget. Hearing on 1958-59 Tentative Budget. Mrs. Eva Elder Pugh, City Treasurer, 4657 N. Merced, Baldwin Park asked that the Treasurer's office be at her office. Moved by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Councilman Littlejohn, and unanimously carried, that no organization be named for pro- motion and publicity of City on page 16 of Tentative Budget. Mayor Cole appointed Councilman Stephens as representative of City of Baldwin Park to the East San Gabriel Valley Planning Commission Mr. Arthur F. Wilson to be alternate appointee. Moved by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Cquncilman Holmes, and unanimously carried,the employees who worked so diligently to complete the 1958-59 Tentative Budget be commended. Mayor Cole stated that to prepare a tax rate it is necessary for City Attorney to prepare an ordinance adopting the budget before August 10, 1958, after figures on the July assessment roll have been received. Mayor Cole stated July 1958 is date set to handle Tentative Budget for 1958-59. Councilman Stephens appointed as rep- resentative on East San Gabriel Valley Planning Com. Arthur F. Wilson appointed alternate. Employees commended for work on 1958-59 Budget. City Atty. to prepare Ordinance re establish- ing tax rate for 1958-59.
