AND SPECIAL MEETING

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:13 p.m. by Mayor Lozano.

PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Pro Tern Baca opened Public Communications at 6:15 p.m.
Seeing no one wishing to speak, Public Communications closed at 6:15 p.m.
OPEN SESSION
1. SAN GABRIEL VALLEY ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP
Presentation by Mike Shay of the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership
Mr. Shay, representing San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership (SGVEP), narrated a
PowerPoint presentation; advised that SGVEP's purposes are to provide business
assistance through a collaborative public-private effort, to market the San Gabriel Valley
as a business friendly region, and to advocate public policy issues.
Mr. Shay reiterated that SGVEP is not a political association and is strictly dedicated to
business development; noted that one of the featured activities the SGVEP offers is
what is called a "Business Walk" in which representatives walk the business district to
meet business owners face to face, exchange ideas, hear their concerns and develop a
relationship that will foster a health business environment.
Following his presentation, Mr. Shay responded to questions from Council.
Councilmembers inquired about membership in the Partnership, costs for public
agencies, and some of the services provided to member agencies.
A motion was made by Lozano, seconded by Pacheco, and carried (5—0) to bring this
back for further consideration in relation to the upcoming budget process.

There being no further business, motion was made by Lozano, seconded by Garcia, to adjourn
the meeting at 7:04 p.m.
