The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in adjourned regular meeting at the Municipal Auditorium Council Chambers at 11:30 R M, ROLL CALL Present: Councilman Bishop, Stephens, Holmes, Mayor Cole, Chief Administrative Officer Asmus, Acting City Attorney Gorlick and City Clerk Balkus Absent: Councilman Littlejohn ROLL CALL Councilman Stephens moved that the absence of Councilman Littlejohn Councilman be noted and excused. Councilman Holmes seconded and it was agreed Littlejohn unanimously and so ordered by Mayor Cole. excused. 00- Chief Administrative Officer Asmus read in full the following Ordinance: Ordinance No. 91 ORDINANCE NO. 91 fixing the amt. of AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF money nec. BALDWIN PARK FIXING THE Adopted. AMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY THEREIN FOR OPERATIONS OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1958. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That after the receipt of cettified assessed valuations and adoption of the budget, the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation for the purpose of fixing the tax rate upon taxable property in the City of Baldwin Park, for operations of the various departments of said City for general municipal purposes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1958, is hereby determined and fixed as the sum of $31,434.78. SECTTION 2. This ordinance relates to the annual tax levy of the City and is specially required by the laws of the State. SECTION 3. The City Council declares that this is an emergency ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall be introduced, read in full and passed at one and the same regular meeting. The facts constituting the urgency are as follows: The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park is required by law too adopt this ordinance before September 1st. Unless the ordinance is adopted as an urgency ordinance it cannot be passed before September 1st. No. 58-91 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL fixing the OF ZHB CITY OF BALDWIN PARK FIXING tax rate THE TAX RATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR for the BEGINNING JULY 1, 1958 fiscal year begin The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does resolve ning July as follows: 1, 1958 Adopted. SBLTION 1. That the tax rate of the City of Baldwin Park, to be levied and collected on all taxable property within the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State of California, for the fiscal YYg~ar beginning July 1, 1958, is hereby fixed at 13 cents upon each $106.00 assessed valuation of property, the entire sum thereof being fixed as the rate for, and is to be levied and collected for, general municipal purposes and shall be paid into the General Fund of the City. SECTION 2. This resolution relates to the annual tax levy of the City and is specially required by the jaws of the State. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the passage of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published or posted in the same manner and within the same tine as ordinances are required to be published. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall immediately transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the County Auditor. PASSED AND ADOPTED This 27th day of August, 1958.
