Pacific Avenue, Baldwin Park, 91706 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Mayor Lozano. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Council Member Cruz Baca Council Member Monica Garcia Council Member Ricardo Pacheco Mayor Pro Tern Susan Rubio Mayor Manuel Lozano PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS Mayor Lozano opened Public Communications at 5:35 p.m. Seeing no one wishing to speak, Public Communications closed at 5:35 p.m. OPEN SESSION 1. CODE ENFORCEMENT REORGANIZATION Presentation by Community Development Director Gus Romo regarding the organizational status of the Code Enforcement Division . Lt. Chris Hofford began the presentation by narrating a PowerPoint presentation which illustrated various statistics regarding the types of calls received by Code Enforcement, ' the number of cases resolved and other relevant information; Community Development Director Gus Romo spoke of various actions that could be taken to enhance the relationship with the community and Code Enforcement; both staff members responded to questions from Council. Council expressed the desire for Code Enforcement to, among other things, move forward with community outreach efforts and to re-implement the "Baldwin Park Beautiful" program. RECONVENED TO CLOSED SESSION Council reconvened Closed Session at 9:30 p.m. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Council adjourn the meeting at 11:01 p.m. REPORT ON CLOSED SESSION It was reported out of Closed Session that: By a vote of 3–2, with Council member Baca and Mayor Pro Tem Rubio voting No, that the City would explore "mixed-use" development on the property across from City Hall, generally located at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Maine Avenue. By a vote of 3–2, with Council member Baca and Mayor Pro Tern Rubio voting No, that Michael Taylor would be hired as the Chief of Police for a period of one year. By a vote of 5–0, Council directed the City Attorney to negotiate Dev-lopment Agreements with any applicant that submits for the Cannabis Business Permit.
