A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK,
CALIFORNIA, REPEALING AND REPLACING RESOLUTION NO. 2016-152 AND
ADOPTING SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION ALLOWING FOR THE USE OF CREDIT
CARD AS ALTERNATIVE METHOD FOR PAYMENT OF CITY TAXES AND FEES
WHEREAS, pursuant to California State Government Code Section 6159(h), a
court, city, county, city and county, or any other public agency may impose a fee for the
use of a credit or debit card or electronic funds transfer;
WHEREAS, as authorized by the above state law, it is the intent of the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Park to offer to the residents and customers of the City the
acceptance of credit card as an alternative method for the payment of City taxes and
service fees;
WHEREAS, the credit card fees charged by the card companies shall be passed-
on to the residents and customers as convenience fee; and,
WHEREAS, a properly noticed public hearing was held on April 18, 2018 to receive
public comments on the proposed use of credit card as alternative method of payment of
City taxes and fees.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park as follows:
1. The use of credit card as alternative method of payment of City taxes and fees is
hereby approved.
2. The credit card fees charged by the card companies shall be passed-on to the
residents and customers as convenience fee.
3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of the Resolution and shall cause the
same to be processed in the manner required by law.

foregoing Resolution No. 2018-249 was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park at a regular meeting thereof held on April 18, 2018 and that the same was
