PERSONNELL MEETING OF THE BALDWIN PARK CITY COUNCIL
CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBER) 14403 East Pacific Avenue
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in personnel
session at the above place at 11:45 a.m.
Roll Call: Present; COUNCILMEN BLOXHAM, COLE, HOLMES,
LITTLEJOHN AND MAYOR BISHOP
Absent: CITY ATTORNEY SAUNDERS, CITY
CLERK BALKUS, CITY ENGINEER YOUNG,
CITY TREASURER PUGH AND PLANNING
DIRECTOR MANSFIELD
Also Present: CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER ASMUS
AND DEPUTY CITY CLERK SMITH

Mayor Bishop reported that, upon the instruction of Council,
he had talked to Mr. Edwin Elko about his resigning as a Plan-
ning Commissioner of the City of Baldwin Park, giving many
and sufficient reasons therefore, but that Mr. Elko had re-
fused to resign. Mayor Bishop stated that he had again at-
tempted, by telephone, to clarify the necessity for this
action, in that complaints have been received from the
citiznes and that problems have been created in the Planning
Commission, but that Mr. Elko refused to understand.
It was the general consensus of members of Council that no
alternative had been provided them.
COUNCILMAN BLOXHAM MOVED THAT MR. EDWIN ELKO BE DIMISSED AS
A PLANNING COPv\MISSIONER OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK. COUNCILMAN LITTLEJOHN SECONDED. The motion
carried by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN BLOXHAM, LITTLEJOHN,
COLE, HOLMES AND MAYOR BISHOP
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE

Mayor Bishop, with approval of Council, appointed Mr. Edward
B. Stephens to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Edwin Elko on the
Planning Commission.

AT 11:55 A.M. COUNCILMAN LITTLEJOHN MOVED THAT THE PERSONNEL
MEETING BE ADJOURNED. COUNCILMAN BLOXHAM SECONDED. There
were no objections the motion carried and was so ordered
by Mayor Bishop.
