Regular Meeting of the Baldwin Park City Council
City Engineer French stated that Ordinance No. 488 concerned
the Badillo Avenue improvement; that in order for the County
to proceed with the Badillo Avenue improvement the City of
Baldwin Park must grant jurisdiction to the County; that the
County would award the contract and pay for the improvement;
that the County Would be going out to bid on the bridge
structure next month; that the County wanted to have the
bridge across Big Dalton constructed prior to November of
this year; that immediately following the award of bid for
the bridge structure the County would like to award bid
for the street.
Chief Administrative Officer Nordby stated that this Ordi-
nance had been on the Agenda as an urgency Ordinance, however
an urgency Ordinance must be passed by four-fifths of the
Council and with only three members present this evening that
the urgency Ordinance had been removed from the Agenda and the
Ordinance had been put on the Agenda in the normal manner; that
since there was a time problem on this Ordinance the urgency
Ordinance would be placed back on the Agenda for the 21st of
June, 1967; for consideration.

Regular Meeting of the Baldwin Park City Council
City Engineer French reviewed his report regarding
the Ramona Boulevard Project; that basically this
concerned.'acqu i s it ion of railroad right-of-way; that
this would budget an additional $159,400.00 to this
program from money that the City of Baldwin Park had
been accumulating with Los Angeles County on the
Select Aid System; that through the agreement that
the Council had approved approximately one and one-
half years ago the Cityts Select System money has
been deposited with the County; that the County would
provide the matching credit; that he recommended that
the City Council adopt Resolution No. 67-171.

lates to the salary schedule; that there were two errors

the approved incr ate in'wages for the Street Maintenance
Superintendent; that Resolution No. 67-172 would change
the Street Maintenance Superintendent's classification
from 34 to 36; that this-change in classification also
eliminates any overtime for this same Individual.

Chief Administrative Officer Nordby stated that at the
Special City Council Meeting of June 3, 1967 Council
had waived the bidding procedure to purchase a replacer
ment vehicle for one that had been totally damaged in an
accident on the freeway; that Chief of Police Adams had
sent out invitations for quotations; that most of the
dealers have indicated that the factories have closed
out the production of special vehicles to be used for
police'service; that three quotations had been received;
Clippinger Chevrolet, $2,584.56 Including tax; MacKaig
& Sons Chrysler-Plymouth $2,580.67 and Haefner Chrysler-
Plymouth Inc., $2,756,83; that he recommended th t a
Plymouth be purchased from MacKaig & Sons in Monrovia
for the purchase price of $2,580.67; that the car
would have heavy duty suspension; that they can not
provide bucket seats at this time; that Chief Adams
would be willing to accept this rather than wait for
the new models; that at a later time the seats could
be modified at a cost of approximately $60.00.

Nordby and he would be out of the City on the 8th and
9th of June, 1967 to attend the Southern California Gas
Company annual tour; that during Chief Administrative
Officer NordIy's absence Thelma L. Backus, City Clerk
wou l d be the Acting Chief Administrative Officer.
AT 7:53 P.M. COUNCILMAN CRITES MOVED THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL ADJOURN. COUNCILMAN ADAIR SECONDED. There
were no objections, the motion carried and was so
ordered.
