EDISON COMPANY STANDARD AGREEMENT COUNCILMAN GREGORY MOVED THAT THE EDISON COMPANY STANDARD AGREEMENT BE APPROVED AND THAT THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK BE AUTHORIZED TO SIGNo COUNCILMAN MOREHEAD SECONDED, There were no objections, the motion carried and was so orderedo EDISON COMPANY STANDARD AGREEMENT APPROVED 00- City Engineer French reviewed the Traffic Committee Report- on the closing of Leorlta Street at Dalewoodo It was the recommendation of the Traffic Committee that Leorita Street be closed at Dalewood; that Bess, Avenue and Leorlta Street not be a four-way stop intersection unless the City Council makes a finding that this action is necessary as a replace- ment of access rights In return for the closing of Leorl+a Street* Mr. French stated that, since this report was made, additional complaints had been received from residents on Judith protesting the closing of Leorita; that the only rec- orded complaint was from Mr, Zieger on Judith who stated that he would have Insufficient'access to the east and there w'ould be no particular benefit to residents In the area; that he, along with his neighbors, did not believe the park was necessary and did not want it, TRAFFIC COMMITTEE REPORT CLOSING LEORtTA ST, AT DALEWOOD CI+y Engineer French also reviewed a report from the Park Department which indicated that the proposed park site would not be used to Its best advantage unless the street were abandoned. In answer to Councilman Hamilton's question regarding the advisability of expending funds for this purpose when the site is leased on a five year basis; City Engineer French stated that the Division of Highways had no projected use of this property at this time for freeway widening but they do not want to give up this property so that in case of future freeway widening It would be available; that the agreement provided that the City would be allowed to use the property until the Division of Highways has a use for It. Mr French stated that he believed the use of the park would be for quite some time. Mayor McCaron stated that until the Council finds out what usage develops, he thought the street should be left open for the present. Councilman Morehead stated that.
