regular session at the above place at 4s00 porno

Mayor McCaron stated that this adjourned meeting was being
held to consider a Resolution to proceed on the findings and
formation of the drafting of a charter for the City of Baldwin
Park; that in accordance with this Resolution, the Commission
would make its findings to determine whether the City should
reorganize as a Charter ity and, thereafter, to draft a
charter for the City of Baldwin Parko

In answer to Mayor McCaron"s question regarding the ex officio
members of the Commission, City Attorney Flahdrick stated that this
could be included in the Resolution or not, as the Council
wishedg that if the Council adopted the Resolution, with such
modifications as they saw fit, that there would then be a
Resolution for the appointment of the members to the Com-
mission and, at that time, it could be indicated that the
City Manager and the City Attorney shall assist the Commission
in the performance of their functionsc.
Mayor McCaron stated that he thought one month would be a suf-
ficient period of time for the Commission to make their first
report,
Councilman Gregory stated that she thought one month would
not be a sufficient amount of time to assimilate all of the
material necessary; that it should be at least two monthSo
City Manager Nordby stated that he had discussed the time
element with the City Attorney and they had been thinking in
terms of two months for the report and four months for the draft
of a proposed Charter; that if sixty days was not sufficient,
the time could be extendedo
Councilman Gregory felt this was reasonable with the thought
that the time element could be extendedo

of Resolution No. 70-84. the first blank should read, two 2)"
and the second blank should read, four 4)»" There were no
objections,
COUNCILMAN MOREHEAD MOVED THAT RESOLUTION NO. 70-84 BE ADOPTED RES. NO* 70-84
AND THAT FURTHER READING BE WAIVED, COUNCILMAN KING SECONDED ADOPTED
Roll Call, There were no objections, the motion carried and
was so ordered.
