AND MAYOR GREGORY Absent: COUNCILMAN MC CARON Also Present: CITY MANAGER MOCALIS, CITY ATTORNEY FLANDRICK. CHIEF OF POLICE ADAMS, CITY CLERK BALKUS Absent: ACTING CITY ENGINEER HALE, PLANNING DIRECTOR GORDON, FINANCE DIRECTOR DUNCAN. CITY TREASURER CODLING 00- COUNCILMAN KING MOVED THAT COUNCILMAN MC CARON BE EXCUSED. COUNCILMAN BLEWETT SECONDED. There were no objections. The motion carried and was so ordered. 00- City Manager Mocalis stated that the purpose of the meeting was to adopt two Ordinances amending the contract with the Board of Administration of the California Public Employees' Retirement System. Ordinance No. 622 had first reading on December 15, 1971 and Ordinance No. 623 was an Urgency Ordinance". City Clerk Batkus read by title: ORDINANCE NO. 622 AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM COUNCILMAN KING MOVED THAT FURTHER READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 622 BE WAIVED. COUNCILMAN BLEWETT SECONDED. There were no objections. The motion carried and was so ordered. COUNCILMAN KING MOVED THAT ORDINANCE NO. 622 BE ADOPTED. COUNCILMAN BLEWETT SECONDED. He thanked the Council on behalf of himself and the Association for the Council's considered action upon the employees' request. Mr. Caresio stated it had been his pleasure to serve as President of the Association, a position which he was relinquishing on December 31, 1971 to the incoming President, Nadja Cole, and he introduced Mrs. Cole. Mayor Gregory congratulated Mrs. Cote, thanked Mr. Caresio, and comnended him for his efforts in uniting the Employees' Association and the Police Association. 00- AT 5:07 P.M. COUNCILMAN BLEWETT MOVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ADJOURN. COUNCILMAN KING SECONDED. There were no objections. The motion carried and was so ordered. 00- KEN CARESIO PRESIDENT. EMPLOYEES ASSN.
