NO. 75-9 ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 75-9 ADOPTED AND FURTHER READING WAIVED. M/S/C: KING/GREGORY. There were no objections. 00- Mr. Mocalis explained that the Lampman proposal, regarding the Southern Pacific Agreement for Ramona Boulevard property, submitted previously with a recommendation had been discussed by the Council individually with the Consultant and himself. Some changes in the proposal were made, one was lowering of the railroad which is not necessary at this time. Secondly, the total was changed from $100,000.00 to $75,000.00 and the minimum the City would pay was changed from $50,000.00 to $25,000.00. Another proposal was to ask the Railroad not to close escrow for six 6) months, saving the City about $25,000.00. These changes will not be made in the proposal until the Council so directs. LAMPMAN PROPOSAL RE SOUTHERN PACIFIC AGREEMENT RE RAMONA BLVD. PROPERTY City Clerk Balkus read a tetter from Carl Sharpe, President, People for Progress, which proposed not using a consultant but to utilize the Commercial and Industrial Department for real estate negotations with the Railroad copy in official files). LETTER READ FROM PEOPLE FOR PROGRESS Mr. Mocalis said he was sure that if a proposal from any consultant did not make economic sense to the Community no action would be taken by the Council. This firm does have knowledge of the needs of the Railroad and has the ability to get things done. Mayor Hamilton said he had met with members of the firm and the benefits derived would have to be proved to the Council. The Council is conservative and this was a study to bring commercial development to the City. If we can save money by delaying the escrow six 6) months that is good business. No proposal will be accepted by Council if it is not for the betterment of the City. 00- Councilman King proposed that a Plaque and Resolution be prepared for presentation to Assemblyman Montoya. After discussion it was directed that a Plaque be prepared and presented at the Citizen of the Year Banquet. PLAQUE TO BE PRE- PARED & PRESENTED TO ASSEMBLYMAN MONTOYA 00- AT 9:51 P.M.
