NOVEMBER 29. 1977 7:30 P.M. Roll Call: Present: COUNCILMAN AGUILAR, BLEWETT, HAMILTON AND MAYOR WALDO Absent: COUNCILMAN KITCHEL ROLL CALL Also Present: ACTING CITY MANAGER SEXTON, CITY TREASURER MONTENEGRO AND CITY CLERK BALKUS EXCUSE COUNCILMAN KITCHEL. M/S/C: AGUILAR/ BLEWETT. There were no objections. 00- City Clerk Batkus stated that this was the time and place fixed for receiving the City Clerk's Certification as to the results of the Special Municipal Election held Tuesday, November 22, 1977. As authorized by Resolution No. 77-91. a canvass of the election returns was made by a Board on November 23 at 4:30 p.m.; 76 absentee ballots were cast; and 3,775 ballots were cast at precincts, for a total of 3,851 ballots cast. The Certificate of Canvass is attached to Res- olution No. 77-98 which indicates the votes cast for all members. On the Measure Shall Jerry R. Kitchet be recalled from the office of Member of the City Council?" there were 3,031 yes votes and 785 no votes. The measure did carry. On the Measure Shall Emmit R. Waldo be recalled from the office of Member of the City Council?" there were 3,002 yes votes and 757 no votes. The measure did carry. On the Measure If the recall prevails shall the City Council fi11 the vacancies by appoint- ment or ca11 a special election for that purpose?" by appointment there were 596 votes; by special election there were 2,475 votes.
