The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park met in regular session in the
Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.
The Invocation was given by Councilman Gibson.
The Flag Salute was led by Chief of Police Hoskin.

The absence of City Treasurer Montenegro was
excused.

Mayor White read a proclamation honoring National
Library Week" and presented it to Dolores Pedro, City
Librarian. He also read a proclamation honoring
National Community Development Week" to be presented
by the Housing & Economic Development Department to
other agencies.
Mayor White introduced the coach of the Sierra Vista
High School Championship Boys' Wrestling Team and the
coach of the Baldwin Park High School Championship
Girls' Field Hockey Team. Each coach explained the
awards that had been won and introduced team members
that were present. Councilman Gibson presented each
coach with a special certificate to honor them.

It was moved and seconded to approve the Consent
Calendar as presented. M/S/C: GIBSON/IZELL.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES
Director of Human Services Lucas reported that the
following persons were being recommended to serve
on the Centennial Committee*s Steering Committee:
Fred Torres/ Rev. Lanier, Clint Nixon/ Mr. O'Brien,
Danny Wagner and Ron Gibson. Council approved of
those appointments to the committee.
City Planner Rangle stated that the Council adopted
an ordinance rezoning certain properties within the
Amar/Judith area on February 18, 1987. The studies
and rezoning have been concluded and the moratorium
for that area does not need to continue.
It was moved and seconded to approve Ordinance No.
960, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 951"/
REPEALING THE MORATORIUM, AMAR/JUDITH AREA).

Aileen Pinheiro, Amar Road, thanked th Council for
the opening of the museum, the City Flag and the
Founder's Day date.
