City Attorney Alvarez-Glasman to look into drafting a
gang abatement ordinance.
PARKING VIOLATION Mayor Lozano asked staff to notWy Fiesta Thrift Store
about any code provisions prohibiting parking 18
wheeled diesel trucks in their parking lot
BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION Director Nunez received a phone call extending an
invitation to a 100ff' year birthday party for Irene
Woodward. Ms. Woodward worked for the city from
1956-66 and was the first employee to retire from the
City of Baldwin Park.
ANNUAL PARADE Director Nunez reminded the Council about the parade
on Saturday, November 6TH asked that anyone who has
not registered to ride, to please sign up as soon as
possible.
RED RIBBON WEEK Chief LeGarra announced that October 25-29, 1999 is
Red Ribbon Week.
ANNUAL POLICE BIKKE RACE Chief LeGarra announced that on November 13,1999,
the Police Department will be having ifs annual bicycle
race. This is a fundraising endeavor with all proceeds
to benefit a K-9 unit dog. All are invited to attend.
TRANSPORTATION COMMUNICATION Chief LeGarra stated that there is a vacancy on the
Transportation Communication Committee and he
would like to apply for the seat. He asked Council for
their approval. There were no objections.
ADJOURN There being no other matters before the Council, Mayor
Lozano adjourned this meeting to the memory of
Alejandro Valdez, a Baldwin Park resident who was
killed last week in Los Angeles, and also to the memory
of long-time resident and Baldwin Park Unified School
District employee Armando Torres. Meeting was
adjourned at 8:55 p.m.

held December 15, 199.
