The CITY COUNCIL and COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY of the
City of Baldwin Park met in STUDY SESSION at the above time and place.
ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmember/Member Ricardo Pacheco. Bill Van Cleave arrived at 6:50
p.m.), Mayor Pro-TenWice-Chair Marten Garcia and Mayor/Chair Manuel Lozano
Absent/Excused: Councilmember/Member Linda Gair
Also Present: Dayle Keller. Chief Executive Officer; Arnold Alvarez-Glasman. Crty
Attorney; Melecio Picazo, Redevelopment Project Coordinator; and Rosemary M.
Ramirez. Chief Deputy City Clerk
SUBSEQUENT NEED ITEM ADDED TO AGENDA
Attorney Alvarez-Glasman advised the Agency/City Council that two 2) Items regarding
Conference with Legal Counsel Existing Litigation had developed after the posting of
the notice of agenda. There is an immediate need to provide a briefing to the City
Council in this matter. He recommended that this matter be added to the Closed
Session portion of this agenda.
By Council consensus, the following subsequent need items were added to the closed
session portion of this agenda as follows: Conference with Legal Counsel-Existing
Litigation GC 54956.9); Name of Case: Redevelopment Agency vs. Donovan, et al.;
and Name of Case: City of Baldwin Park vs. Baldwin Park Motor Lodge, et al.
CLOSED SESSION
The Council/Agency recessed to Closed Session at 5:39 p.m.
Teleconferencing Closed Session Roll Call: Present: Councilmember/Member: Ricardo
Pacheco, Bill Van Cleave arrived at 6:50 p.m.). Mayor Pro-Tem/Vice-Chair Marten
Garcia and Mayor/Chair Manuel Lozano. Councilmember/Member Gair was present via
teleconferencing at 20875 Oak St., Tehachapi. California. Councilmember Gair noted
that the required posting at the location was in order.
Teleconferencing Closed Session ended at 6:58 at which time Councilmember/Member
Gair was excused.
The City Council/Agency reconvened at 7:00 p.m. with all members present with the
exception of Councilmember/Member Gair. City Attorney Alvarez-Glasman reported
the action as follows:

Title: Interim Community Development Director
ACTION: City Council approved a contract and appointed Melecio
Picazo to the position of Interim Community
Development Director, effective August 21, 2002.

Title: Chief Executive Officer
ACTION: This matter was deferred to a later date.
ADJOURN
There being no other matters before the Council/Agency, the meeting was adjourned at
7:02 p.m.
