The CITY COUNCIL and COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY of the
City of Baldwin Park met in STUDY SESSION at the above time and place.
ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmember/Member: Linda Gair. Bill Van Cleave, Mayor Pro-Tem/Vice-
Chair Marlen Garcia and Mayor/Chair Manuel Lozano
Absent: Councilmember/Member Ricardo Pacheco
Also Present: Kara Bouton, Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer; Joanne Africa,
Deputy City Attorney; Mark Kling. Chief of Police; Manny Carrillo,
Recreation/Community Services Director; Rosemary M. Ramirez, Chief Deputy City
Clerk and Kathleen Sessman. Deputy City Clerk
Absent/Excused: Dayle Keller. Chief Executive Officer
CLOSED SESSION
The Council/Agency recessed to Closed Session at 6:05 p.m. and reconvened at 6:28
p.m.. with all members present with the exception of Councilmember/Member Ricardo
Pacheco who was absent. Deputy City Attorney Joanne Africa reported the action as
follows:
PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT GC 54957)
Title: Community Development Director
ACTION: City Council decided to employee Susan Evans as the
new Community Development Director. By a vote of
four to zero, Councilmember Pacheco was absent.
Salary resolution will be presented at the next City
Council meeting.
PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION GC 54957)
Title: Chief of Police
ACTION: Staff gave briefing regarding the evaluation of the Chief
of Police, Council conquered with that evaluation. Salary
resolution will be presented at the next City Council
meeting.
