COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK, CITY

JUNE 5, 1990 AT 1:00 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park met in regular session in the Council
Chambers at 1:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS GALLEGOS, IZELL, ROLL CALL
KEYSER, MCNEILL AND MAYOR LOWES
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Penman,
City Attorney Flandrick,

City Treasurer Montenegro's absence was excused. ABSENCE

CLOSED SESSION
City Manager Penman stated that a Closed Session was CLOSED
necessary relating to Personnel Matters as authorized by SESSION
Government Code Section 54957.1.
The regular meeting of the City Council was adjourned to
a Closed Session at 1:12 p.m.
The regular meeting of the City Council was reconvened
at 2:06 p.m. Roll Call remained the same.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES
City Manager Penman explained the processes that were BUDGET
used following the last Budget Study Session and the STUDY
additional reductions that were requested from each of SESSION
the departments. He also explained the memorandum
relating to the alternatives to balance the FY 1990-91.
He listed the options as $283,200 in revenues, the cuts
as $483,330, and the trading of Proposition A monies as
$300,000. He requested that Council direct staff
regarding the options considered.
Council discussed the areas of concern that they have DISCUSSION
regarding projected revenue, the cuts that are being
made and some of the cuts that they felt were possible
that had not been included.
Council directed staff to take the recommendations, DIRECTION
proceed with them and bring back a finalized report for
the budget for the June 20th City Council meeting.
City Manager Penman stated that the June 20th report
will be presented at a Public hearing and public input
will be taken at that time.
