The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park met in regular session in the
Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.

City Treasurer Montenegro,

City Clerk Gair

The absence of Councilmen Izell and Keyser were excused. ABSENCE
EXCUSED

REPORTS OF OFFICERS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES
City Clerk Gair reported on the canvass of the April 14, DECLARING
1992 General Municipal Election and verified that all RESULTS
ballots had been correctly county and accounted for. APRIL 14,
She stated that a majority of the voters voting voted 1992
for Fidel A. Vargas for Mayor; for Martin Gallegos ELECTION
and Raul Martinez for Members of the City Council; Ana
Montenegro for City Treasurer; Linda L. Gair for City
Clerk; and that a majority of the voters voting did not
vote in favor of either Measure A or Measure B and
therefore the measures are not adopted or ratified.
It was moved and seconded to adopt Resolution No. 92- RESOLUTION
31, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NO. 92-31
BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE ADOPTED
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 14, 1992,
DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED
BY LAW." N/S/C: MCNEILL/GALLEGOS. There were no
objections.

Mayor Lowes, who was not elected to the office of mayor MAYOR
at the April 14, 1992 election, thanked the people of LOWES
Baldwin Park, the councilmembers and her family for the CLOSING
last four years. She spoke of the accomplishments that STATEMENT
she has been a part of, and the progress of the City.
Councilmembers expressed the pleasure that they felt in COUNCIL
having served with Mayor Lowes during her terms in COMMENTS
office. They stated that she would be missed.
Mayor Pro Tern McNeill presented Mayor Lowes with a City PLAQUE
Plaque honoring her terms in office. PRESENTED

Deputy City Clerk Branek administered the Oath of Office OATH OF
to Linda L. Gair for City Clerk and a Certificate of OFFICE
Election was presented to her.
City Clerk Gair administered the Oath of Office to Fidel OATHS OF
A. Vargas for Mayor and to Martin Gallegos and Raul OFFICE
Martinez for Members of City Council and to Ana

Montenegro for City Treasurer. A certificate of
Election was presented to each elected official.

Each of the newly elected Councilmen and Mayor commented OFFICIAL'S
on their election or re-election. Family members were COMMENTS
introduced by the officials and each official thanked
those who had worked for them and supported them during
the election. They commented on their positions and the
things they hope for and want to accomplish during their
term in office.
Mayor Pro Tem McNeill welcomed new Mayor Vargas and
Councilman Martinez and congratulated councilman
Gallegos, City Treasurer Montenegro and City Clerk Gair
on their re-election.

It was moved and seconded to adjourn the special meeting MEETING
of the City Council at 7:20 p.m. M/S/C: ADJOURNED
GALLEGOS/MARTINEZ. There were no objections. 7:20 P.M.
