HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994 03 03 CC MIN1994 03 03 CC MINòw @˜z CC MIN MAR 3 1994[Þ›[H³8 ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK, CITY HALL, 14403 EAST PACIFIC AVENUE, THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 1994 The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in an adjourned regular session in the Council Chambers at 8:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS GALLEGOS, MUSE AND MAYOR VARGAS Mayor Vargas welcomed the employees to the Good Morning Baldwin Park" meeting and introduced Councilwoman Muse. Mayor Vargas commented on the police action to close the Garvey Strip, the quick removal of graffiti and the decline of the crime rate. He told of the deficit of the State budget, the possiblities of taking the Motor Vehicle fees from the cities, the economy, and working together to find a solution of closing the shortfall. The employees asked the following questions: 1. What are some of the ideas that Council has to close the budget gap? 2. Would it be possible for the employees to know prior to the meeting what problems the Council faced, then the employees would be better prepared to bring ideas to the meeting? 3. How is information funneled from the employee to the Council? 4. Explain the Triangle Project? 5. What image is to be projected in the City? 6. Can the police truck be used to enforce Yard Sale Permits on the weekends? 7. To what extent will Council back Code Enforcement? 8. What can be done to remove graffiti on private property'? 9. Can retirement funds be used to balance the budget? The regular adjourned meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 9:10 a.m. There were no Z LINDA L.
