The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park met in a study session in Room 307
with the Housing Commission at 6:00 p.m.

MARTINEZ, MUSE AND MAYOR VARGAS

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications open and invited those wishing to speak
to come forward. There were none.
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications closed.
TOPICS
Director of Administrative Services Yeats presented the Master Plan for the Long
Range Information System by providing the Council and staff with a pamphlet outlining
all the purchases, changes, and new programs. He explained the funding strategy, the
added cost of $122,000, and the cost to the General Fund for full implementation at
$ 399,000.
Council discussed at length, with Director Yeats, the changes in many departments and
the capabilities for the departments, council and public access, and increased
productivity. It was the consensus of the Council to push forward as fast as possible,
taking into consideration the cost factor, and bring back adjustments with the second
year budget.

Director of Community Development Carbajal explained some of the difficulties the
Housing Commission is still having with attendance and some of the alternatives
should the Council wish to disband the housing Commission. Council requested that this
be brought back to them with a report on attendance and recommendations that might
include disbanding the present commissioners and possibly requesting reapplication for
commissioners interested.
The NPDES item was held over to a later date.
