PACIFIC AVENUE, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 1995 AT 6:00 P.M. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in a study session in Room 307 with the Housing Commission at 6:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS LOWES, LOZANO, MARTINEZ, MUSE AND MAYOR VARGAS ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Bower, Dir. of Admin. Serv. Yeats, Police Chief Lanza, Dir. of Public Works Mousavi, Dir. of Comm. Dev. Carbajal. Acting Dir. of Human Services Barron and City Clerk Gair ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications open and invited those wishing to speak to come forward. There were none. Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications closed. TOPICS Director of Administrative Services Yeats presented the Master Plan for the Long Range Information System by providing the Council and staff with a pamphlet outlining all the purchases, changes, and new programs. He explained the funding strategy, the added cost of $122,000, and the cost to the General Fund for full implementation at $ 399,000. Council discussed at length, with Director Yeats, the changes in many departments and the capabilities for the departments, council and public access, and increased productivity. It was the consensus of the Council to push forward as fast as possible, taking into consideration the cost factor, and bring back adjustments with the second year budget. Council requested that this be brought back to them with a report on attendance and recommendations that might include disbanding the present commissioners and possibly requesting reapplication for commissioners interested.
