The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
met in a study session in Room 307 at
6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS LOZANO, MARTINEZ,
MUSE, MAYOR VARGAS
ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Bower,
Acting Dir. of Administrative Services Cole,
Chief of Police Lanza,
Dir. of Human Services Nunez,
Dir. of Public Works Mousavi, and
City Clerk Gair

The absence of Councilmember Lowes was excused.

City Attorney Bower stated that after the agenda was posted a Subsequent Need Item
became necessary due to a print deadline on October 4th relating to the Image
Campaign.
It was moved and seconded to add a Subsequent Need Item to the agenda pertaining
to the Image Campaign. MIS/C: MARTINEZ/MUSE. There were no objections.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications open and invited those wishing to speak
on any subject to come forward. There were none.
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications closed.

Topics for Discussion:
Braun and Ketchum presented a new Image Campaign including marketing logos that
Council and staff had not seen before.

After discussion it was determined that the logo would be referred to as the Economic
Development Marketing Symbol.

The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned to a Closed Session to consider 1)
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING LITIGATION, Name of Case:
Villalovos V. City of Baldwin Park, pursuant to Government Code 54956.9; 1)
CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR, Agency Negotiator: Nadja Cole,
Employee Organization: Baldwin Park Police Association, pursuant to Government
Code 54957.6; and 3) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING
LITIGATION, City of Baldwin Park, et al. v. Greenberg, Glusker, Fields, Claman &
Machtinger, pursuant to Government Code 54956.9.
The City Council reconvened at 6:59 p.m. Roll call remained the same.
The study session meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m. There were no objections.
