Park met in a Study session in Room 307
at 6:00 p.m.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications open and invited those wishing to speak
on any subject to come forward at this time. There were none.

TOPICS
Director of Administrative Services Yeats introduced Rick Martinez of the Old Timers
Association, of the Magellen Group Partnership, who introduced their development
team: Dale Brown, George Cole, Kevin Staley and Marge Rice. The purpose of their
presentation was to inform the City Council regarding their proposal for a senior housing
project in Baldwin Park.
Mr. Martinez gave background profiles of the development team, and explained the
motivation for them coming together as senior housing developers. Mr. Cole gave a
detailed description of the project and the benefits of the project to seniors to be able
to live in this special senior housing. He also outlined the program and activities that are
held in these type of projects.

After discussion, Staff was directed to look into the financing and other aspects of the
City's involvement in this project and have this brought back to a future study session.
