The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
met in a Study Session in Room 307 at 5:30
p.m.

MUSE AND MAYOR VARGAS
ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Olivas,
City Manager Yeats,
Acting Chief of Police Kies,
Dir. of Public Works Mousavi,
Dir. of Rec\Community Services Nunez, and
City Clerk Gair

ORAL COMMUNICATION
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications open and invited those wishing to speak
on any subject to come forward. There were none.
Mayor Vargas declared Oral Communications closed.

CLOSED SESSION
The City Council adjourned to a Closed Session at 5:35 p.m. to consider Conference
With Legal Counsel, Existing Litigation, Name of Case: Jill Shay Sehnerk vs City of
Baldwin Park, Case No.001-90-00048, pursuant to Government Code 54956.9(a).
The City Council reconvened the Study Session at 5:50 p.m.
City Attorney Olivas stated that in Closed Session, authorized by Government Code
section 54956.9(a), settlement was authorized, and no information will be released at this
time. Council agreed by unanimous consent.

TOPICS OF DISCUSSION
Director of Public Works Mousavi presented the proposed monument signs that were on
display.
Council suggested using electronic signs, depending on the cost. Council selected
lB, ID, and Alternative 3.
Councilmember Lowes was present at 5:55 p.m.
Director Mousavi suggested four 4) large and two 2) small signs. The signs will be
graffiti proof with one of the new applications. Placement of the signs was also
discussed.
Council adjourned to tour the Dispatch and Information Systems to observe the new CAD
system in operation.
