The City Council met in adjourned regular session in
Room 1 of the Community Center at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL PRESENT: MEMBERS LOZANO, MUSE, PACHECO,
VAN CLEAVE AND CHAIRMAN LOWES
ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Olivas,
Dir. Of Public Works Mousavi,
Acting Chief of Police Kies,
Dir. of Community Development Cervantes,
Dir. of Rec/Community Services Nunez, and
City Clerk Gair

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Lowes declared Oral Communications open and invited those wishing to speak to come
forward. There were none.
Mayor Lowes declared Oral Communications closed.

SUBSEQUENT NEED
City Attorney Olivas explained the immediate need to consider Public Employee Appointment
relating to an Interim Finance Director. This came to the attention of Staff after the posting of
the agenda and needs to he a Subsequent Need Item to he considered tonight
It was moved and seconded to add the Subsequent Need Item concerning the Interim Finance
Director.. M/S/C: PACHECO/MUSE. There were no objections.

CLOSED SESSION
The City Council met in Closed Session at 6:12 p.m. to consider Public Employee Appointment
relating to an Interim Finance Director, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.

The City Council reconvened at 6:31 p.m. Roll Call remained the same.
City Attorney Olivas stated that in Closed Session the Council discussed the appointment of Jose
Sanchez as Interim Finance Director. He was appointed to that position by a 5-0 vote of the
Council. No other action was taken.

Mayor Lowes adjourned regular meeting of the City Council at 6:32 p.m. to June 1, 1998 at 5:30
p.m. in Room 307 of City Hall for a Budget Study Session. There were no objections.
