Chamber of Commerce Relocation Options, the Possible Sale of the 4141 Maine Avenue
property, and the Relocation of the Housing Division Staff. Community Development Director
Cervantes requested that the Council direct him to pursue negotiations with Dr. Hernandez regarding
the possible sale of the building at 4141 Maine Avenue which presently houses the Chamber of
Commerce. He commented on the price that Dr, Hernandez has indicated would be his offer, the
yearly fee and the need to relocate the Chamber. The last step would be to help the Housing Staff also
be relocated in the Sterling Way house.
The Council stated that due to the short length of time left in the study session, they would agree that
negotiations be pursued with Dr. Hernandez and they would like this to come back as an agenda item
so that a decision can be made. They commented on the long term use of the house on Sterling Way
and that they felt the price being offered for the Maine Avenue building was fair. They wanted to see
this brought to a conclusion, because it has been discussed several times. It needs to be on an agenda
soon because whatever is decided can create a domino effect.
4)0-
Mayor Lowes adjourned the study session of the City Council at 6:56 p.m. There were no objections.
