A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK ESTABLISHING A TRUST AND AGENCY FUND FOR PUBLIC
WORKS SIGNS FOR THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Public Works Department of the City of Baldwin Park has an
established amount of funds appropriated by the City Council, which is to be used for expenses
associated with the creation, construction and placement of signage directing citizens to businesses
within the boundaries of the City of Baldwin Park.
SECTION 2. That the Public Works Department has established procedures for
requesting the creation of the signage and shall charge the requesting party the actual cost of the sign.
The cost of the creation, construction and placement of signage shall be reimbursed by the requesting
party to the Trust Fund for the future creation, construction and placement of other signage as
approved under the guidelines established in the procedures for requesting signage. Under current
General Fund accounting procedures signage reimbursements are not credited back to the Public Works
Department to enable additional signage creation for requesting parties.
SECTION 3. That the authority granted for making expenditures from Fund 1 50
Trust Fund) shall be limited to actual expenses that are associated with the direct creation,
construction and placement of signage for businesses located within the boundaries of the City of
Baldwin Park. The Public Works Director or his designated representative will be responsible for the
approval of all expenditures of funds from this account. In the event that the amounts of expenditures
exceed money received there shall be required a transfer of funds from the General Fund to the Trust
Fund which shall ensure adequate funds exist for the future creation, construction and placement of
signage.
SECTION 4. That revenues associated with the reimbursement of funds for the
purpose of signage shall be deposited in the Trust Fund for the purposes designated in Section 2 above.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
