HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001 104 CC RESO2001 104 CC RESO¹òw @˜Œ™2001 RESO 2001-104–"[HnBRESOLUTION NO. 2001-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK IN SUPPORT OF CITY OF BALDWIN PARK EMPLOYEES WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES SERVING DURING THE USA MILITARY EFFORTS AGAINST TERRORISM" WHEREAS, the United States of America is currently engaged in an armed conflict against terrorism; WHEREAS, the United States of America as the leader of nations of the world has engaged in this military conflict to protect and preserve the rights and interests of not only the United States but of our allied nations throughout the globe; and WHEREAS, many Representatives of the United States Congress support the policy defined by President Bush and further support the brave men and women serving in the military efforts against terrorism. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council fully supports the courageous men and women serving in the campaign against terrorism and commends them for their patriotism, dedication, bravery, and commitment to the United States of America and the goals and policies set forth by the President of our Nation. SECTION 2. The Baldwin Park City Council approves the supplemental compensation between the employee's military pay and the base salary for his/her City position. SECTION 3. The Baldwin Park City Council also approves the continuation of medical and dental benefits for the employee and his/her dependents. SECTION 4. This policy will be in full force effective October 7, 2001 through the duration of the USA Military Efforts Against Terrorism" or twelve 12) months from the date of employee's activation, whichever is less. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall thereupon be in full force and effort.
