A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2000-67
RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF A MEMBER TO THE
UNSCHEDULED, UN-EXPIRED VACANCY OF OFFICE NO. 4 OF
THE PERSONNEL COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Section 32.11 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code states that
Commission members shall be qualified residents of the City at the time of their appointment
and at all other times during their term; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting held October 3, 2001, the City Council received notification
that Personnel Commission Member Ronald Palacios, Office No. 4, no longer resided within
the City of Baldwin Park jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting held December 19, 2001, at the request of Councilmember
Pacheco, the City Council approved to conduct interviews with each of the Personnel
Commission applicants; and
WHEREAS, applicant interviews were conducted on Tuesday, January 8, 2002; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 32.11 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code,
the City Council declared Office No. 4 vacant and instructed the City Clerk to commence with
the recruitment process to fill the unscheduled vacancy on the Personnel Commission; and
WHEREAS, a public notice of the unscheduled vacancy was published according to
the requirements of state law. Said publication was made in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune
and in the December, 2001 edition of the Baldwin Park NOW; and
WHEREAS, the expiration date for the un-expired term of Office No. 4 is June 30,
2002;and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of filling the unscheduled, un-expired term of
office No. 4.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDIWN PARK
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following named person is hereby appointed as member of Office
No. 4 of the Personnel Commission of the City of Baldwin Park.
Office 1 Trina De Pedro for the term expiring June 30, 2004
Office 2 Gerald Dahlen for the term expiring June 30, 2004
Office 3 Efren Rivera for the term expiring June 30, 2002
Office 4 Manny Dulos for the term expiring June 30, 2002
Office 5 Son Lieu for the term expiring June 30, 2002

Section 2. Said appointee shall hold office at the pleasure of the City Council and
serve for the term as indicated above.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and
forward a copy to said appointee and to the Personnel Commission Secretary.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16th day of January, 2002.
