AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Oft BALdDWIN PARK
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY,
DESIGNATED ANNEXATION NO. 2" TO THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK.

WHEREAS, on the 4th day of June, 1956, The Coii~bil of the City of
Baldwin Park did pass and adopt Resolution No. 37 g1Ving notice of the
proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwih
Park, said territory being therein designated as Anhb tion No. 9", and
said action being taken by the Cbulloil of said City b he legisl4tive body
of the City pursuant to a writtet petition thbidfok~p bald Rbsoiut on describ-
ing the boundaries of the ts"it4y 60 oopo"d td hb ahnexed to said City;
and
WB MAS, said Resolution No. 37 did contain a notice of the day, hour
and place when and where the said Council of said City would hear protests
made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be
annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than fifteen nor more than
forty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of July, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in
the Council Chambers in the Auditorium of Old Central School, City of
Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed fn said Resolution No. 37 for
hearing protests to the said annexation, the said Council of said City did
hear and pass upon all protests made to said proposed annexation and did
determine that no protests to said proposed annexation have been made by
the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as
determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby approve the annexation of said territory, hereinafter described, to
the City of Baldwin Park and does hereby further ordain that the said terri-
tory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Baldwin Park.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Baldwin
Park is herein approved, is all that territory situated in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary of the City of Baldwin
Park, as same existed on May 15, 1956, with the northeasterly line of
Lot 11 of El Monte Walnut Place, as shown on ma.p recorded in Book 6,
page 104, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los
Angeles; thence southeasterly and southwesterly along the boundary of
said lot to the most easterly corner of Lot 1 of Tract No. 15555, as
shown on map recorded in Book 588, pages 61 and 62, of said Maps; thence
northwesterly in a direct line to the most northerly corner of Lot 15
of said tract; thence westerly in a direct line to the most easterly
corner of Parcel 187, as described in Final Order of Condemnation in
favor of Los Angeles County Flood Control District in Case No. 626015 of
the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the County of
Los Angeles, a certified copy of which is recorded in Book 48177, gaga
432, of Official Records, in the office of said Recorder; thence north-
westerly along the boundary of said parcel to the northwesterly line of said
Lot 11, thence northeasterly along said northwesterly line and continu-
ing northeasterly and easterly along the boundary of said city to the
point of beginning.
