ORDINANCE No. 23
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
ESTABLISHING THE TAX RATE FM MUNICIPAL PURPOSES FOR THE TAX
YEAR 1956-1957.
THE CITY 000NCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park finds that
different tax rates are not required for different portions of the city, and
that a uniform tax rate shall be levied for all portions of the city.
Section 2. The City Council finds and determines that to defray the
expenses o the operation of the City for the fiscal year July l, 1956 to
June 30, 1957s it shall be necessary for $27,788.37 to be raised for the
General Fund.
Section 3. The City Council hereby fixes the tax rate as fifteen
cents upon each One Hundred $100.00) Dollars assessed value of the
property in the City of Baldwin Park as assessed and equalized for the
purpose of raising $27,788.37 for the General Fund.
Section 4. The City Council finds and determines that the rates
herein fixed s 11 be sufficient to raise the amount necessary for the
operation of the funds as herein designated and the expense of collection.
Section 5. Validit If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase, or portion of t ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid
or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of
this ordinance. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park hereby declares
that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection'
sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that
any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or por-
tions be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance, inasmuch as it provides
for a tax levy for the usual current expenses of the City, shall, under the
Provisions of Section 1 of Article IV of the Constitution and Section 36937,
subsection d) of the Government Cods, take effect immediately.
The City Clerk is directed to immediately transmit to the Comity
Auditor a statement of the rates herein fixed.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED THIS 30th day of August, 1956.

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was duly adopted by the City
Council of said City and was approved by the Moor of said City at a Special
Meeting of said City Council held on the 30th day of August, 1956, and that
it was so adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Cole, Duskin, Littlejohn, Scovotti and Bloxham.
NOES: None
