Section 1. Sections No.2800 2801, 2802, 28032-280, 2905, 2806,
2807~ 2808," t'~e mown as Chapter 9, Article II, are hereby added to

Section 2800. A Traffic abed Safety Commission for the City is

Section 2801. Said Traffic send Safety_Camnissicn shall consist

Of the members of the Commission first appointed hereunder, two shall be for
the term of three years, two for the tern of two years, and one for the term
of o,year. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of three years.
If vacancies shall occur, otherwise than by expiration of the terms, they
shill be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. Members
ShUl be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council.
F;x officio members shall be appointed to serve for the term of their employ-
ment by the City. All members shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council.
Section 2802. If a member of the Traffic and Safety Commission
5 shall be absent from three successive regular. meetings of-said Commission
without,cauoe,,the office of such member shall be deemed to be vacant, and the
teen of such member ipso facto terminated, and the Traffic and Safety Commission
shall immediately inform the City Council of such termination.
Section 2803. An absence due to illness or an unavoidable absence
from the City and written notice thereof to the Traffic and Safety Commission
on or before the day of any regular meeting of the said Commission shall be
deemed absence for cause.

Section 2804. The Traffic and Safety Commission shall hold not
C less than one regular meeting per month at the City Council chambers. The time
and day of such regular meeting shall be set by-resolution of the Commission.
Section 2805. The Traffic and Safety Commission shall elect its

p. crew and fill such other offices as it may determine to best fib the purpose
far=sib organization. The Commission shall adopt rules for transaction of

record of the resolutions, transactions, findings.and determinations, which
record's shall be a public record.
Section 2806. The Traffic and Safety Commission shall perform the
duties and-shall have all the rights, powers acid privileges specified and

The Traffic and Safety Commission shall have
no authorities and duties beyond those which are herein specifically set forth.
The Traffic and Safety Commission shall, after due deliberation and study,
make-its recommendations by resolution formally adopted by the Commission to
the City Council.

street design. The Traffic and Safety Camnission shall not investigate or
make dations on matters concerniag the maintenance of public or
personnel matters within the City.
*Section 2808. The persons hereby appointed to serve as the
mmbers of the Traffic and Safety Camaission, and the length of their tern,
