AN ORDINANCE OF CIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING THE BALDWIN PARK
MUNICIPAL OWE BY ADDING TWO NEW SECTIONS

RIGHT OF WAY AT CROSSWALK,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 3300,2 and Section 3327,1 are hereby added to
the Bald Par uaiMk cipal Code to read as follows:
3300,2 CROSSWALKS, Crosswalk is either:
a. That portion of a roadway ordinarily included within the
prolongation or connection of the boundary lines of sidewalks
at the intersections where the Intersecting roadways meet at
approximately right angles, except the prolongation of any
such lines from an alley across the street,
b. Any portion of a roadway distinctly indicated for pedestrian
crossing by lines or other markings on the surface.
c, Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions a) and b) of this
Section 3300,2, there shall not be a crosswalk where the City
Council shall have caused to be placed signs indicating no
crossing,
3327,1 PEDESTRIAN'S RIGHT OF WAY AT CROSSWALKS:
a. Pedestrian's right of way, The driver of vehicles shall yield
the right o way to ato a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a
marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an inter-
section,
b, Overtaking Vehicles stopped at crosswalk,
Whenever any vehicle has stopped at a marked crosswalk or at any
unmarked crosswalk at an intersection to permit a pedestrian to
cross the roadway, the driver of any other vehicle approaching
from the rear shall not overtake and pass such stopped vehicle,
Section 3_ The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published or posted in the manner
required by law, and this ordinance shall take effect thirty 30) days after
its adoption,
