AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
AMENDING SECTION 8311 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE PERTAINING TO ELECTRICAL PERMITS,
AND INCORPORATING THEREIN.THE ELECTRICAL
SAFETY ORDERS, 1955 EDITION, ISSUED BY THE
DIVISION OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, AND THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE, 1956 EDITION, AS APPROVED BY THE
AMERICAN STANDARDS ASSOCIATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE.
Section 8311 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code
is amended to read as follows:
Section 8311 Installation.
All electrical installations in the City
of Baldwin Park shall be in conformity with the
provisions of this Code, the statutes of the State
of California, the Electrical Safety Orders, 1955
edition, issued by the Division of Industrial Safe-
ty of the State of California, and shall be in con-
formity with approved standards for safety to life
and property. The said Electrical Safety Orders,
1955 edition, which apply to places of employment,
are incorporated herein by reference as applicable
to all places, whether places of employment or
otherwise. Where no specific type or class of
material or no specific standards are prescribed
by the statutes of the State of California, by reg-
ulations issued under the authority of the State
statutes or by this Code, conformity with the reg-
ulations of the National Electrical Code, 1956
edition, as approved by the American Standards
Association, shall be prima facie evidence of con-
formity with approved standards for safety to life
and property."
SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published
or posted in the manner required by law, and this Ordinance
shall take effect thirty days after its adoption.
