AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAN PARK FIXING THE AMOUNT OF
MONEY NEC ARY 1O BE ktPiISED BY TAXATION
UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY THMIN FOR
OPERATIONS OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF
SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
JULY 1, 1959.
The City Council of the City of Baldwixn Park does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. That after the receipt of certified assessed
valuations and adoption of the budget, the amount of money necessary
to be raised by taxation for the purpose of fixing the tax rate upon
taxable property in the City of Baldwin Park, for operation of the
various departments of said City for general municipal purposes for the
fiscal year beginning July 1, 1959, is hereby determined and fixed as
the sum of $33,124.19.
Section 2. This ordinance relates to the annual tax levy of
the City and is specially required by the laws of the State.
Section 3. The City Council declares that this is an emergency
ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety and shall be introduced, read in full and passed at one and the
same adjourned regular meeting. The facts constituting the urgency are
as follows
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park is
required by law to adopt this ordinance before September
1st. Unless the ordinance is adopted as an urgency
ordinance it cannot be passed before September lat. This
would result in the loss of tax revenues needed by the
City to operate its public works, police and other depart-
ments thereby affecting the peace, health and safety of
the City and its inhabitants.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published or posted in the
manner required by law, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately

upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of August, 1959.

adopted as an emergency ordinance by a four-fifths vote of the City
Council of said City and approved by the Mayor thereof at an adjourned
regular meeting of said City Council held on the 20th day of A-agust,
1959, and that it was so adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen LITTLEJOHN WILSON, BISHOP AND MAYOR COLE
NOES: Councilmen NONE
ABSENT: Councilmen HOLMES
