AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING
SECTION 1110 OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING
CODE TO REQUIRE LOCATION OF PRIVATE
SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS IN THE FRONT
YARD SETBACK AREA.
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the Baldwin Park Municipal Code is
amended by adding a new section, designated Section 8207.1,
to Article VIII, Chapter 2 thereof, to read as follows:
8207.1. Additional Amendment to Location of Build-
ing Sewers. Section 1110 o s n orm um ng o e
s amended by adding subsection e) thereto, to read as
follows:
e) Private sewage disposal systems in all
new construction shall be located within the front
yard setback area except when, in the opinion of
the Superintendent of the Building Department, it
is not feasible to do so. No such system shall be
located within any area providing ingress or egress
to the property.
Section 2. That this ordinance is declared to be an
emergency ordinance for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health and safety. The facts constituting the
emergency are as follows: Private sewage disposal systems
are being located in rear yard areas where it is difficult
to service them. It is essential to the public health and
safety that they be located in the front yard areas where
they can be more easily serviced. It is also important that
they be kept away from driveways so that access to the prop-
erty for fire suppression purposes will not be impeded.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of this ordinance and cause it to be published as
required by law. This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
