AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DEFINING DAY NURSERY,
CHILD CARE HOMES, FOSTER HOME, AND AMEND-
ING THE ZONING PROVISIONS OF THE BALDWIN
PARK MUNICIPAL CODE TO PERMIT DAY-NURS-
ERIES IN RESIDENTIAL AND AGRICULTURAL ZONES
TO CARE FOR SEVEN CHILDREN, INCLUDING
OCCUPANTIS OWN.
The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park do
ordain as follows:
Section I. That paragraph 5 of subsection b of
Section 9100.207, paragraph 5 of subsection b of Section
9100.212 and paragraph 14 of Section 9100.231 of the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code are amended to read as follows:
Day nurseries, child care homes and foster homes,
provided the occupant of the premises is licensed to operate
such nursery or home by the County Welfare Commission, has
complied with all of the requirements for operating such nursery
or home, has registered his name, location of residence, and
number of children cared for with the Planning Department, and
provided further that such licensee of a day nursery limits
the number of children kept on the premises to seven, in-
cluding his own, and that such licensee of a child care home
or foster home limits the number of children kept on the pre-
mises to five, including his own.
Section 2. That three new sections are added to said
Municipal Code, to read as follows:
Section 9100.129.1. Child Care Nome. Child Care
Home" means a public nursery where children are kept and
trained during the day.
Section 9100.132.5. Day Nursery. Day Nursery"
means a private home in which children are.cared for while their
parents are at work.
Section 9100.135.2. Foster Home. Foster Home" means
a home in which a foster child is reared.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause it to be published as required by
law. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days after the
date of its adoption.

after a public hearing as required by Section 6580. of the
Government Code of the State of California, was duly and re-
gularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park at its regular meeting held on the h day
of June 1960, by the following vote.
AYES: Councilmen HOLMES,81SHOP,BLOXHAM,LITTLEJOHN AND MAYOR COLE
NOES: Councilmen NONE
