HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 229ORD 229ê79wR ×Pî3 as 9 ORDINANCE NO THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING SECTION 2201 OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNI- CIPAL CODE REDUCING THE NUMBER OF PLANNING COMMISSIONERS FROM SEVEN TO FIVE AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A PLANNING COMMISSION The City Council of the City of Bald~in Park does ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 2201 of Chapt,42r 2 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code is amended to/ read as follows: 2201. Members. Said Plannin Commission shall consist of five emnbers who shal be qualified electors of the City who may be persons o hold an office or a position with the City. Provi d, however, that the number of members of such Co m sion who are officials of the City shall not exceed two in number and they shall have the right to vote. Of the members of the Commission first, appointed hereunder, two shall be for the term of four years and three for the term of two years. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of four years. If, vacancies shall occur, otherwise than by expiration of term, they shall be filled by appoint- ment for the unexpired portion of the term. Members shall be appointed by. the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. Section 2. Except as hereinabove amended the Municipal Code shall remain the same and in full force and effect. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause',the same to be published or posted as required by law. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days after the date of its adoption. ADOPTED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk this day of 1962. This ordinance is passed as an emergency measure, and the Council does, by the vote by which this ordinance is passed, hereby declare that an emergency exists which makes it imperative that this ordinance should become effective forthwith in order that the public health, welfare, and safety might more effectively be provided for.
