Home My WebLink AboutORD 252ORD 252ê79wV ×Pî· ORDINANCE NO. 252 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAIDWIN PARK AMENDING CHAPTER 4, OF ARTICLE III, OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE, CONSISTING OF SECTIONS 3400 TO 3406, INCLUSIVE, RELATING TO REGISTRATION OF BICYCLES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALUWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Chapter 4 of Article III of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, consisting of Sections 3400 to 3406, inclu- sive, relating to the regulation of bicycles is hereby amended to read as follows: 3400. License and registration required. No person s a operate or use any bicycle propelled wholly, or in part, by muscular power, upon any street in the City, without first registering the same and obtaining a license therefor, in the manner hereinafter set forth. 3401. Same. A location, Any person desiring to regisfer a cycle an to obtain a license therefor, shall file a written application with the Chief of Police or his authorized agent, on the form to be provided by him, containing such information as may be deemed necessary by the Chief of Police. Upon receipt of such application, together with the necessary fees therefor, as hereinafter set forth, the Chief of Police shall register the said bicycle in a regf6ter, which shall be maintained by him, for a period of not less than five 5) years. A registration serial number shall be assigned to each such bicycle, such numbers to run consecutively from the number 1. Thereafter, said Chief of Police shall issue to the applicant a registration certifi- cate and a license, which license shall be suitably affixed to the bicycle in the manner and in the location to be designated by the Chief of Police. 3402. If application for registra on an cans ng of a bicycle is made in the manner hereinbefore set forth, and said bicycle has no serial number stamped thereon, the Chief of Police or his authorized agent shall stamp an appropriate serial number upon the frame of any such bicycle, so as to aid in the proper identification thereof. 3404. Every person who sells or rans ers'ownership ownership of any bicycle shall, within ten 10) days of such sale or transfer, report the same to the Chief of Police, upon the form to be provided by that officer. Upon payment of the transfer fee, the Chief of Police shall indicate such transfer of ownership in the register maintained by him. 3406. Same. License Fees. Fees to be charged by the Chief of Police or registration and licensing under this Chapter shall be as follows: a) initial registration $ 1.00 b) transfer fee $ 1.00 c) for replacement of a license or registration card $ 1.00" SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published or posted in the manner prescribed by law.
